Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the forum where many companies introduce truly innovative solutions in information and communications technologies, and this year is no different. As MWC 2017 comes to a close, it was Netcracker Technology's turn to showcase some of the digital innovations it has been developing, including its cloud-based online charging system, next-gen BSS/OSS and SDN/NFV solutions designed to push the digital transformation taking place forward while laying the groundwork for the future of virtualization.
The innovations the company developed in 2016 alone have resulted in awards from several organizations, including TMC, which gave Netcracker two SDN/NFV Product of the Year Awards.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, Netcracker Technology is part of an organization that has had its share of innovations throughout the years. For its part, Netcracker develops mission-critical solutions for global service providers with large-scale digital transformation designed to uncover the opportunities that are available in a changing mobile ecosystem, the cloud and virtualization.
The Cloud-Based Online Charging System (OCS) is, according to Netcracker, the industry's first always-active OCS that will allow service providers to quickly monetize new digital services by eliminating the complexities of hardware-based legacy charging systems. With this solution in place, service providers will have deployment flexibility across physical and virtual environments, so they're always on and available for their customers.
The cloud-based OCS supports pre-paid and post-paid models for all types of services with converged revenue management capabilities across all business lines. The cloud platform also means the ability to scale as new generation services come online with demands such as VoLTE, virtualization, 5G and IoT services.
The SDN/NFV solution Netcracker is demonstrating is going to help organizations in their digital transformation journey. Service providers will have an easier time navigating through physical and virtual infrastructure hybrid environments as they look to commercialize and monetize new services.
The company's SDN/NFV portfolio, or the NEC/Netcracker SDN/NFV Solutions Portfolio, includes market-ready solutions powered by Agile Virtualization Platform and Practice (AVP) that are built on a common platform to fully help service providers commercialize their virtual network and service environments. In addition to a full suite of consulting and professional services, the portfolio is designed to generate new revenue and reduce cost and risk while helping service providers accelerate the time to market for new services. The combined resources of NEC/Netcracker provide a comprehensive end to end support system of network and IT technology to successfully deliver SDN/NFV initiatives in a vendor-agnostic environment.
