Analyst Firm Recognizes Huawei; Enterprise Unit Names New President

Huawei has been recognized by Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan for enabling communications services providers to deliver value-added services via its VAS Cloud solution.

The VAS Cloud helps facilities-based service providers eliminate the overlay networks they have built in years past and instead bring everything together for more agility and efficiency. It also provides the building blocks and platform that CSPs can use to easily change or create services going forward. This service and related capabilities can be employed to address a variety of communications types – including messaging and voice – and connectivity options – including wireline and various flavors of wireless.

“Huawei has a strong services component within its solution portfolio and has quickly grown into a leading provider of managed network operations services and managed services operations,” said Tim McElligott, senior consulting analyst at Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan. “As networks evolve toward cloud, virtualization and an all-digital world, Huawei continues to roll out solutions for these new architectures as well as the services and applications that run on them."

The companies also noted that Huawei has helped build and operate more than 20 managed services operations centers, which they say is more than any of its competitors. That, they indicate, positioned Huawei well to support CSPs with services and other solutions.

According to IHS Technology, Huawei holds the No. 2 position in the telecommunications outsourcing services space, which was worth $69 billion in 2015 and is poised to reach $76 billion by 2020. The leader in this space is Ericsson. Those that follow Huawei in this category are IBM and Nokia Networks.

In other recent news out of Huawei, the company named David He as the new president of Huawei Enterprise U.S. The former president of marketing and solution sales for Huawei’s Enterprise Business Group, He will lead the marketing, partners, sales and service activities for the company’s enterprise business accounts in the U.S., and coordinate marketing and sales campaigns with Huawei headquarters in China.
