ADVA Optical Networking's Ensemble Harmony Ecosystem Announces More Members

By Michael Guta July 26, 2016

In today's highly dynamic and competitive digital landscape, service providers and enterprises have to respond to the needs of their customers as soon as possible. The ability to activate new services with the necessary hardware and network integration is therefore extremely important. Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) is delivering on that promise, but it also requires the coming together of vendors that use this technology with the best NFV solutions under one umbrella so they can be readily available. The expansion of ADVA Optical Networking's) Ensemble Harmony Ecosystem with an additional 10 members will give enterprises and communication service providers (CSPs) more options as they continue to transition to software-based networking.

ADVA Optical Networking has been providing intelligent telecommunications hardware, software and services for more than two decades. The solutions it offers are currently deployed by several hundred service providers and thousands of enterprises globally. Based on this experience, ADVA designed the Ensemble Harmony Ecosystem to bring together a collection of best-of-breed vendors.

Ensemble also provides a comprehensive set of tools so CSPs and enterprises can maximize their return on investment and cost of ownership of their network. This includes Ensemble Analytics, Orchestrator, Dashboard, Controller, Connector, Network Controller and Registrar.

Under this platform, ADVA already had some of the most recognized brands in the sector, including Brocade, Dell, Intel, Juniper, redhat, Riverbed, Sonus and others. The 10 new members that will be part of this family include, Advantech, ASTRI, Check Point Software Technologies, Introspective Networks, LightRiver Technologies, Mirantis, Riverbed Technology, Versa Networks and Walker and Associates.

“We know that today's customers expect cooperation between vendors. They demand solutions that enable them to combine the most advanced and best-of-breed components from various suppliers. That's why we've created an environment where the industry's leading companies can collaborate to deliver even more value to customers and take NFV to the next level,” Brian Irish , director, marketing, Ensemble Division, ADVA Optical Networking.

The new and existing members are able to closely work in a multivendor ecosystem where the solutions they provide are more accessible to service providers and enterprises with the most innovative technology currently available in the marketplace. For ADVA, it means accelerating the pace of innovation and adoption of software-based networking with automation and virtualization initiatives.

The 30 members that are part of the Ensemble Harmony Ecosystem offer comprehensive NFV solutions, including 14 categories of virtualized network functions (VNFs) so customers can choose software, hardware and deployment location.
