ipoque Joins Alcatel-Lucent CloudBand Ecosystem to Support NFV

By Laura Stotler November 20, 2015

ipoque, a company specializing in network traffic and subscriber analytics solutions, has joined Alcatel-Lucent’s CloudBand Ecosystem Program in support of NFV. The Rohde & Schwarz company works with operators to help them understand traffic patterns, improve subscriber experience and monetize new data services.

By joining the CloudBand program, the company has committed to work with more than 60 partners on NFV innovations and solutions. ipoque will specifically contribute its R&S PACE protocol and application classification engine to the program. The OEM software solution enables application awareness and can run in virtual environments with no performance loss.

”R&S PACE is perfectly suited to run in virtualized environments having no external dependencies, supporting standard servers and operating systems,” said Reik Hesselbarth, COO at ipoque. “It allows our customers to take advantage of NFV with application awareness with no loss in performance. All while maintaining a memory footprint that is the smallest on the market by a factor of 10.”

The software is already in use globally by network infrastructure vendors, who embed it in their physical and virtual appliances. It is also used in software and cloud solutions like firewalls, gateways and WiFi access points. The software may be used anywhere intelligent network functions decisions need to be made, for tasks like offloading video, caching content and blocking viruses and malware.

Last month, ipoque released its R&S Net Reporter 2 internet traffic analytics platform. The upgraded platform offers twice as much capacity as the company’s previous version and feeds big data systems like Hadoop with IP and subscriber data. The platform has applications in marketing, network operations and planning, internet peering and wholesale departments.

ipoque also offers the R&S Net Sensor intelligent IP probe, designed to enable network operators and service providers to extract network traffic and subscriber behavior data. The solution also pinpoints statistical trends in mobile and fixed networks and may be used in combination with Net Reporter to deliver a full range of insights on network traffic.
