Anuta Networks Rolls Out New NCX

By David Delony May 20, 2014

Anuta Networks has announced improvements to its NCX software solution, which will allow corporate networks and service providers to take advantage of SDN features.

“We’re very excited to empower service providers with a comprehensive SDN solution that delivers self-served network services for MPLS backbone networks,” said Chandu Guntakala, founder, president and CEO of Anuta Networks.

The new NCX allows service providers to get up and running with their Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks. In the past, it would take network providers several weeks to get new VPN customers set up. With the NCX, customers can be set up in just a few minutes.

Some of the new features include end-to-end Ethernet, MPLS L3VPN and L2VPN, as well as E-Line & E-LAN support. The NCX can also support PE-CE connections using different IGP protocols, including IP, EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS and BGP and can control virtual appliances using vPE and vCE.

Another major addition is support for Network Function Virtualization (NFV). NFV applies the idea of virtual machines to network appliances, letting administrators build networks using virtual appliances that provide a layer of abstraction on top of physical networks. Anuta offers what it says is the first network orchestration for a number of virtual appliances including Cisco CSR1000V, Cisco Nexus 1000V, VMware DVS, Citrix NetScaler VPX, F5 BIG-IP, Juniper vSRX, Juniper Firefly and Riverbed Steelhead WAN Optimization.

Anuta also announced Technology Alliance Partner  agreement with Fortinet. Anuta’s NCX is designed to work with Fortinet’s security products.

"Fortinet is excited by the opportunities ahead with Anuta Networks to help worldwide enterprises create highly-secure next-generation network services that can transform their businesses in the cloud and maximize their competitive advantages,” Ryan Potter, Fortinet director of strategic alliances said. Potter added that SDN, NFV and other networks were critical for letting customers take advantage of cloud technologies while keeping their networks safe.
