Juniper's Contrail Selected by TCP cloud

By Rahul Arora October 03, 2014

Juniper Networks, a company involved in network innovation, recently announced that its Contrail controller for software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) has been selected by TCP cloud, a provider of cloud computing in the Czech Republic, to improve automation and orchestration in its physical and virtual infrastructures. The solution will help TCP cloud save on the time in building high-density private cloud solutions.

Juniper’s Contrail is a software defined networking solution that automates and orchestrates the creation of highly scalable virtual networks. These virtual networks let clients harness the power of the cloud—for new services, increased business agility, and revenue growth. It helps in creation of virtual networks that integrate seamlessly with existing physical networks, and that are easy to manage and orchestrate.

With the solution, the clients can avoid expensive vendor-lock with an open architecture that interoperates with a wide range hypervisors, orchestration systems, and physical networks. Its Open System Architecture enables vendor-agnostic interoperability and automation and maximizes investment protection by eliminating infrastructure refresh requirements and enabling extensibility.

"TCP cloud is on the forefront of providing innovative virtualized cloud services to its customers in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries,” said Ankur Singla, corporate vice president and general manager, cloud software, Juniper Networks. “The network TCP cloud has built using Juniper's MetaFabric architecture with the Contrail SDN controller will give TCP cloud the agility it needs to deliver solutions quickly and at scale for its customers."

In related news, Juniper Networks recently announced that BroadSoft, Inc. has deployed a comprehensive cloud networking solution across its data centers comprised of Juniper routing, switching and security products, as well as Juniper Networks Support. This complete solution delivers the security, scale and reliability BroadSoft requires to meet the growing demand for BroadCloud®, the firm's Unified Communications (UC) managed services for telecommunications service providers.
