NetCracker Announces New Customer Engagements, Participates in TMF Catalyst Efforts

By Paula Bernier June 03, 2015

NetCracker Technology in mid-May, introduced version 10 of its billing and operational support system. And it’s demonstrating that platform, announcing several major customer wins, and participating in two Catalyst events with its peers, this week at TM Forum Live! in Nice, France.

The company will be discussing the economic drivers of carrier investments in new customer experience processes and solutions, and will explain how NetCracker 10 can fit the bill.

New customers announced by NetCracker this week include Andorra Telecom, Turkcell, and VIVACOM.

Andorra is the national telecommunications operator for the Principality of Andorra. It has tapped NetCracker, a longtime partner, to help with its major BSS/OSS transformation effort. That will involve the implementation of the entire NetCracker suite, including tools to address customer problem management; customer, product and service information management, and order management; resource and service inventory; revenue management; and service activation.

Turkcell Superonline, a data, voice, and video service provider in Turkey, is leveraging NEC Corp. and NetCracker technology to improve service assurance and fulfillment, and to generally become more agile, according to the companies. (NetCracker was purchased in NEC by 2008, but remains an autonomous entity.) This implementation involves NetCracker’s discovery and reconciliation, network planning and design, and resource inventory solutions.

VIVACOM, a Bulgarian quad-play service provider, has implemented NetCracker Revenue Management to handle its billing, charging, and rating across all its lines of business. The solution is now live.

The Catalyst efforts in which NetCracker is participating TM Forum Live! 2015 include one called Security Functions in NFV and another titled Closing the Loop: Customer Experience, Policy and Virtualization Catalyst.

With version 10, NetCracker’s BSS/OSS solution offers support for cloud-based delivery of applications, includes big data analytics functionality that can be used across all domains of the solution, expands carriers’ ability to do customer experience management, and can address virtualization. Sanjay Mewada, vice president of strategy at NetCracker, says the platform enables service providers to more easily transition from legacy networks to hybrid environments with virtualized network functions.
