Offices of Howard G. Smith announces that it is investigating
potential claims on behalf of investors of Fabrinet (the "Company")
(NYSE:FN), concerning possible violations of federal securities laws.
The investigation is on behalf of purchasers of Fabrinet shares prior to
August 18, 2014, and includes purchasers in the Company's May 29, 2014,
Secondary Offering of 3.15 million ordinary shares at $18 per share.
Fabrinet provides optical packaging and precision optical,
electro-mechanical and electronic manufacturing services to original
equipment manufacturers of optical communication components, modules and
sub-systems and industrial lasers and sensors. The investigaion is
related to the Company's August 18, 2014, announcement that Fabrinet is
postponing its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2014 earnings release and
conference call until after the completion of an internal investigation
whether there were any violations of the Company's accounting policies
during the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended June 27, 2014, and
whether there may be any deficiencies with the Company's disclosure
controls and procedures and internal control over financial reporting.
According to the Company, "certain accounting issues were discovered by
management, which prompted the Audit Committee to commence an internal
investigation. The Audit Committee is investigating whether there were
any violations of the Company's accounting policies associated with
these potential accounting matters." Following this news, Fabrinet
shares fell more than 18%, or $3.21 per share, in intraday trading on
August 18, 2014.
