Croatia to cut roaming charges in July [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]

(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Prices of mobile phone roaming services in Croatia will be cut by 21% to 55% depending on the type of service as of July 1, according to EU regulations, Croatian telecoms regulator HAKOM said on June 26.

As a consequence, prices for outgoing calls on roaming will be reduced by 21% to a maximum of HRK 1.81 (EUR 0.24), while tariffs for incoming calls will drop 27% to maximum HRK 0.48.  Charges for data traffic in roaming will be 55% lower than they currently are and will not exceed HRK 1.91 per MB.

At the beginning of April, the European Parliament voted to ban roaming charges for using a mobile phone in another EU country as of December 15, 2015. According to the European Commission, roaming charges are currently 80%-90% lower than they were in 2007.
