Go Green [South Wales Echo (UK)]
(South Wales Echo (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) IT'S your last chance to get on your bike, get healthy and enjoy the countryside as part of National Bike Week.
The event, which runs until Sunday, is designed to promote everyday exercise for everyone, regardless of their fitness levels and, in order to celebrate, Sustrans Cymru is trying to get as many people as possible to take part and enjoy the magic of being on two wheels.
As a result, it's collaborated with creative marketing agency Yello Brick, to develop Taff Tales, an audio treasure hunt adventure that spans six trafficfree routes which branch off from the popular Taff Trail. The magical Taff Tales encourages families and people of all ages to explore the National Cycle Network in the Valleys and Cardiff like never before.
Hundreds of people have already participated in the scheme, which runs all summer, including the man behind the stories themselves.
"The last time I seriously took to my bike before writing Taff Tales was when I lived in London around seven years ago," said Mali Tudno Jones, 37, who's been enjoying getting back in the saddle since recently moving back to Cardiff.
"I still have that bike and it's happily rotting under our decking outside.
"However, in order to create and write the 18 stories that would be scattered across the National Cycle Network, I knew I'd have to get myself a new one and start exploring again." Bike Week aims to get people all over the UK, just like Jones, pedalling again.
So, whether it's for fun or as a means of getting around town or visiting friends, now's the prefect time to dust off that old bike in the garage or treat yourself to a new set of wheels.
