(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aruba Networks has today announced the 'world's first' mobility-specific education programme designed for colleges and universities that will teach students how to build, maintain and advance wireless LAN networks.
The first wave of the Aruba Mobility Academy will start at Princess Sumaya University in Jordan, Texas A&M University and Tafe South Australia.
Ammar Enaya, regional director at Aruba Networks Middle East & Turkey said: "Mobility is one of the hottest technology trends today in the Middle East as we are becoming increasingly reliant on wireless technologies to live and work. In this scenario it is important for students to gain practical knowledge about implementing and operating Wi-Fi networks.
Aruba Mobility Academy is a step in this direction and the course will equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to become competent networking professionals. We are very happy to collaborate with Princess Sumaya University and look forward to engaging in partnership discussions with various other prestigious universities across the region in order to make the course accessible to many more students." The course is designed to give students the technical understanding and hands-on experience to configure a wireless LAN with mobility controllers and access points; the ability to handle common Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) networking challenges; a focus on Wi-Fi fundamentals, spectrum analysis, wireless LAN design; Remote Authentication Dial In User Service (RADIUS) configuration for 802.1X and Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) authentication; and mobile device provisioning for employees and guests.
A combination of lectures and labs, the global programme consists of semester-long courses can be directly integrated into higher education programmes. Aruba plans to run the course in other colleges and universities worldwide and in the Middle East in the future.
