Shelton resigns from Wentworth-Douglass Hospital post [Foster's Daily Democrat, Dover, N.H. :: ]
(Foster's Daily Democrat (Dover, NH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 02--DOVER -- Deborah Shelton, Vice President of Philanthropy at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, is leaving her position after 10 years, the hospital announced Friday.
In a letter to be released to donors, hospital President and CEO Greg Walker said Shelton decided to resign her position with the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital & Health Foundation, which she has been a part of since its founding. Walker said the hospital wishes Shelton well as she pursues "new endeavors." Due to staffing changes, the hospital will now combine Shelton's old role with that of the Vice President of Community Relations, a role currently held by Noreen Biehl. Walker said the search for the new VP of Development and Community Relations would begin immediately, with Biehl taking over the role in the interim.
"We are very thankful for Deb Shelton's contributions to the Foundation and we are all proud of the work of our Foundation," Biehl said in a statement. "We have raised over $8 million in support of numerous charitable programs to benefit our patients -- programs that include medication assistance, dental care for uninsured and low income adults and children, our care-van program to transport patients to and from hospital appointments who have no other means of transportation. Donations have also enabled the hospital to create a healing garden outside the Garrison Wing, purchase state of the art cardiovascular equipment and support therapeutic camps for kids with diabetes and heart disease." ___ (c)2014 the Foster's Daily Democrat (Dover, N.H.)
