(Cape Argus (South Africa) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BERLIN: Germany's internet security agency says an analysis of hijacked computer networks has turned up about 16 million compromised online accounts.
The Federal Office for Information Security said yesterday the accounts surfaced in an analysis by research institutes and law enforcement agencies in Germany.
Citing an ongoing investigation, it declined to say when the analysis was carried out, who exactly was involved, or what triggered it.
