Kofax® Limited (NASDAQ: KFX)(LSE: KFX), a leading provider of
smart process applications for the business critical First MileTM
of customer interactions, today announced that a major U.S. insurance
company has invested more than $700,000 in Kofax software and services
to process potentially massive volumes of property and casualty claims
that could arise as a result of natural disasters.
The company is using Kofax Communication Server to dramatically expand
its property and casualty claims processing capacity to handle 150
gigabytes of data per hour. This expansion enables the automated
processing of approximately 40,000 incoming faxes and emails with
attachments containing claim documents per hour. Kofax Communication
Server will manage and sort incoming faxes and emails with supporting
documents, route the information to appropriate claim folders without
the need for manual intervention and notify claim processors that the
information is ready to view.
"Because natural disasters are unpredictable and on the rise, this
insurer has taken preemptive measures to ensure it can handle a massive
influx of claims with utmost speed, efficiency and accuracy when their
customers need it most," said Howard Dratler, Executive Vice President
of Field Operations at Kofax. "After evaluating a wide range of
solutions, this insurer recognized that Kofax Communication Server was
the only solutio that would give it the scalability, performance and
control needed to manage an incredibly high volume of claims received
during short periods of time."
The sale was comprised of approximately $400,000 of software licenses,
$250,000 in professional services and $70,000 in maintenance and closed
and delivered during the quarter ended December 31, 2013.
Kofax Communication Server: The Kofax Communication
Server coordinates and performs the automated exchange of information by
integrating inbound and outbound communication channels. It links
virtually any device such as multifunction peripherals (MFPs) and phone
systems, media types like email, fax, SMS, MMS, voicemail and telex, and
applications such as SAP, IBM WebSphere MQ and Kofax document capture
products. Organizations can exchange information in the formats most
appropriate for their customers and partners, enable intelligent routing
and trace information for compliance purposes.
Kofax is a leading provider of smart process applications for the
business critical First Mile of customer interactions. These begin with
an organization's systems of engagement, which generate real time,
information intensive communications from customers, and provide an
essential connection to their systems of record, which are typically
large scale, rigid enterprise applications and repositories not easily
adapted to more contemporary technology. Success in the First Mile can
dramatically improve an organization's customer experience and greatly
reduce operating costs, thus driving increased competitiveness, growth
and profitability. Kofax software and solutions provide a rapid return
on investment to more than 20,000 customers in financial services,
insurance, government, healthcare, business process outsourcing and
other markets. Kofax delivers these through its own sales and service
organization, and a global network of more than 800 authorized partners
in more than 75 countries throughout the Americas, EMEA and Asia
Pacific. For more information, visit kofax.com.
