Scambook Urges Public to Prevent & Fight Fraud During International Fraud Awareness Week 2013
(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 Scambook, the Internet's leading complaint resolution platform, wants to remind consumers and business owners that International Fraud Awareness Week is November 3 - 9, 2013. This campaign is promoted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, a global anti-fraud organization that seeks to reduce business fraud worldwide. According to the ACFE, companies around the world lose an estimated 5% of their total revenue due to fraud.
The annual Fraud Awareness Week campaign, also known as Fraud Week, seeks to raise awareness for this important economic issue and offers consumers and businesses a number of free educational resources to help prevent and stop fraud.
"We wholeheartedly support Fraud Awareness Week and urge the public to participate in this campaign to stop fraud," said Kase Chong, Scambook's Director of Marketing. "From international corporations to small-town local businesses or even your own home, fraud can make a tremendous impact on all of our lives. We urge everyone to learn more about fraud and help prevent it in their community." During Fraud Awareness Week, official supporters will engage in various activities, including: hosting fraud awareness training for employees and/or the community, conducting employee surveys to assess levels of fraud awareness within their organization, posting articles on company websites and in newsletters, and teaming with local media to highlight the problems associated with fraud.
ACFE President and CEO James D. Ratley, CFE, said via a press release on FraudWeek.com that the support of organizations around the world helps make Fraud Awareness Week an effective tool in raising anti-fraud awareness.
“Organizations of all sizes and types are susceptible to fraud, and it can have a measurable impact on their bottom line,” Ratley said. “While prevention and detection is a year-round endeavor, International Fraud Awareness Week shines a spotlight on fraud – and supporters of the campaign demonstrate their understanding that spreading awareness is key in combating the global fraud threat.” * For more information about increasing awareness and reducing the risk of fraud during International Fraud Awareness Week, visit FraudWeek.com.
