Security Products magazine, the only integrated product and
technology magazine reaching the entire security market, announced the
winners in the 2013 Security Products' Govies Government Security
award competition today. The awards honor outstanding government
security products in a variety of categories.
The Security Products' Government Security Awards were launched
in 2009 and re-launched as The Govies in 2011. Participation in this
year's program was up 21% over 2012, with 64 entries. The winning
entries earn the opportunity to display their products in the Govies
booth at the annual GovSec Conference & Expo, which will be held May
13-15 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The judges selected the top entries in the 2013 categories and named
them winners. Platinum and Gold designations within the categories will
be announced at GovSec. The winning entries are:
Investigate Video Systems
IP Video Surveillance Cameras
Mobile Security Apps:
Outdoor Lighting-Based Security Platforms
Video Management Systems
"The Govies are a young product awards contest considering all contests
that are available, but this year's entries are mature products that
fully make a difference in government security," said Ralph C. Jensen,
editor-in-chief of Security Products magazine and content
director of GovSec. "The technology and experience that proliferates the
security industry is both dynamic and an assured commitment on the part
of the manufacturers to provide a more secure world."
In addition to being honored at GovSec, the winners will be featured on
the Security Products website, security-today.com,
and highlighted in a future issue of Security Products magazine.
The magazine is distributed to more than 65,000* subscribers monthly as
well as at trade events including GovSec.
