BRIEF: Azerbaijan elected to International Telecommunications Satellite Organization staff
Feb 16, 2013 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- "Azerkosmos" company representative Mezahim Guliyev was elected Deputy Chairman of the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (ITSO) for Eastern Europe and Northern Asia, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT told Trend on Wednesday.
According to the organization, the elections took place during the 35th meeting of the ITSO Assembly, held in Uganda. After the votes were counted, along with Poland, Azerbaijan was admitted as a permanent member of the advisory committee from Eastern Europe and Northern Asia.
The ITSO first meeting with Azerbaijani participation will be held on March 7-8.
The International Telecommunications Satellite Organization was founded in 1964 as an inter-state organization. It includes 149 countries.
