BUYINS.NET: Market Maker Surveillance Report. BAC, GE, SIRI, DRYS, ACTC, ZNGA, Highest Net Buy Volume With Lowest Price Friction For Friday, January 4th 2013
(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3890 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3607 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1742 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI), DryShips Inc (NASDAQ:DRYS), Advanced Cell Technology Inc (OTCBB:ACTC), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction BAC $0.150 1.25% 53,600,002 40.94% 45,082,037 34.44% 8,517,965 567,864 GE $0.090 0.43% 11,912,286 40.29% 9,319,485 31.52% 2,592,801 288,089 SIRI $0.020 0.65% 61,782,130 57.56% 45,300,848 42.21% 16,481,282 8,240,641 DRYS $0.440 25.43% 15,735,311 55.96% 12,373,641 44.01% 3,361,670 76,402 ACTC $0.020 32.01% 14,755,010 57.90% 10,720,274 42.06% 4,034,736 2,017,368 ZNGA $0.220 9.13% 20,736,258 56.37% 16,046,831 43.62% 4,689,427 213,156 Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows BAC with a Net Buy Volume of 8,517,965 shares and a Friction Factor of 567,864 shares. That means that it takes 567,864 more shares of buying than selling to move BAC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
