Tablet PC Shipment to Reach 180mn Next Year
TAIWAN, Dec 18, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- According to Taiwan media dated December 17, the global tablet PC demand is expected to reach 120 million to 130 million units this year and 180 million units next year.
The performance of Apple will still be eye-catching, according to market observers. According to the report, the increasing demand of tablet PC will benefit Taiwan OEMs (original equipment manufacturer), especially Foxconn, which will become the biggest beneficiary. Other OEMs including Quanta Computer Inc., Pegatron Technology, Wistron Corporation and Compal Electronics, Inc will also see stable growth in tablet PC shipment next year.
Even so, some research institutions hold that Foxconn should spread risk since its revenue depends heavily on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL). A source indicated previously that Foxconn had won orders from Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT and SEHK: 4338).
