In an awards ceremony held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Mobile
Enterprise Executive Summit in Sarasota, Florida, The Ottawa Hospital
(TOH), received its award in the category of Enterprise-Wide Mobility
Deployment. TOH was selected for its imperative and aggressive mobility
plan, the goal of which was to become a top 10% performer in
quality and safety of patient care in North America and for its vision
of providing each patient with world-class, compassionate care. Three
thousand mobile devices were issued to physicians, clinicians and
pharmacists, and a mission-critical wireless network was deployed to
support real-time access to medical records and electronic order entry
systems at the patients' bedside. TOH is the only hospital in the world
to implement such an ambitious mobility strategy, which has resulted in
a new standard for patient care. TOH's award-winning deployment utilizes
