ADC's Precision Wireless Solutions Deliver Mobile Broadband Service at Sun Life Stadium, Home of 2010 Pro Bowl and Super Bowl

MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- ADC (News - Alert) (NASDAQ: ADCT) (www.adc.com) today announced that two of the world's largest mobile carriers have deployed its InterReach Fusion®, InterReach™ Unison (News - Alert), and FlexWave™ Prism distributed antenna systems (DAS) to provide high-performance mobile voice and broadband data services for their subscribers visiting Miami's Sun Life Stadium, home to this year's Pro Bowl and Super Bowl games. Thanks to ADC DAS solutions, capacity crowds of football fans and future attendees at major sports and entertainment events at the stadium will enjoy uninterrupted, high-performance mobile services from these service providers.

ADC DAS systems were selected because they uniquely deliver the capacity required to provide more than 75,000 seated guests plus thousands of additional stadium staff, athletes, performers, and media with clear and consistent mobile services.

"ADC is the only company with a product portfolio that is flexible enough to meet the demands of a complex environment like Sun Life Stadium," said John Spindler (News - Alert), vice president of product management at ADC. "This stadium design uses our FlexWave Prism outdoor DAS products to broadly and cost-effectively cover the stadium's exterior and parking facilities, while using our InterReach Fusion and Unison DAS products to deliver the dedicated channel capacity and precision coverage required for the seats, luxury suites, locker rooms, and other tunneling and difficult-to-reach areas." The deployment for one carrier includes two FlexWave Prism remote units supporting 850 and 1900 MHz frequencies for exterior coverage plus an ADC InterReach Fusion 850/1900 MHz system with 97 remote antenna units. The other carrier deployment includes an InterReach Fusion system with 16 remote antenna units. By using ADC solutions to divide interior and exterior spaces at the stadium into discrete sectors and dedicating channel capacity to each sector, both service providers have ensured that all subscribers will receive quality service even during capacity crowds.

Virtualization has taken the IT world by storm but to date the comms market has been mostly unaffected – relying instead on proprietary appliances for numerous functions. A recent industry push to establish network standards virtualization will potentially shake-up the telecommunications market even more than the move to IP communications. As network hardware begins to be released as software, carriers are expected to save money and benefit greatly from new levels of flexibility related to hosting their network in private and virtual private clouds.
