Microsoft and PreEmptive Solutions announce enhanced version of Dotfuscator Community Edition to be included in Microsoft Visual Studio

Nov 10, 2008 (WORLDWIDE COMPUTER PRODUCTS NEWS via COMTEX) --
Software, services and solutions provider Microsoft Corp and PreEmptive
Solutions, which provides source code protection, application security
and IT governance, announced at Microsoft's Professional Developers
Conference 2008 that an enhanced version of Dotfuscator Community
Edition (CE) will be part of Microsoft's Visual Studio 2010.
Every version of Visual Studio, starting with Visual Studio 2003, has
included the Dotfuscator CE, which prevents the reverse engineering of
.NET applications. The Visual Studio 2010 version has been rebranded
Dotfuscator Software Services Community Edition and its instrumentation
capabilities have been extended with devices such as automatic time
limits on .NET application use and feature level application monitoring
along with tamper detection and defence.
According to PreEmptive Solutions, with the use of Dotfuscator Software

Services CE, development teams will be able to monitor feature usage,
ISVs will be able to incorporate evaluation software usage into
Microsoft Dynamics CRM and enterprises will be able to assimilate
application runtime data into Microsoft Business Intelligence
Solutions. The solution can also stream alerts and runtime data to
cloud-based services.
Dotfuscator Software Services Community Edition will be shipped at no
extra charge with all versions of Visual Studio 2010 (other than Visual
Studio Express).
