Cambia Security's David Meltzer to Unveil New Change-Driven Network Security Strategies at SANSFIRE Annual Conference

ATLANTA --(Business Wire)-- June 7, 2005 -- Cambia Security, Inc. announced today that David Meltzer, founder and chief technology officer, will present at the SANSFIRE Annual Conference 2005 on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

In his session, "Change-Driven Security: Effective Security on an Evolving Network", Meltzer will discuss how a change-driven security model can help enterprises achieve a stronger security posture on their networks by improving the efficiency of vulnerability remediation efforts, policy compliance projects, and asset inventory initiatives.

"Network changes lie at the root of all security risks, whether it is the appearance of new devices or the installation of unauthorized software," said Meltzer. "Hundreds of changes per day demand a security strategy that recognizes this torrent of change and helps security administrators identify and elevate the security risks that have the biggest potential to directly impact their networks."

"The market is demanding newer, more effective ways to stay ahead of the constant flow of external threats," said Joan Herbig, chief executive officer of Cambia Security. "Just as networks are constantly changing, security measures must evolve to help IT professionals who are getting squeezed between escalating risks and decreased resources for network protection. We are fortunate to benefit from David's expertise in change-driven security and delighted to share our vision at SANFIRE'S Atlanta gathering of security professionals."

Mr. Meltzer founded Cambia Security, Inc. in 2003 to bring his vision of using change detection to enhance security operations into reality. He is an IDS pioneer, an original author and the lead developer of the market-leading RealSecure(TM) IDS from Internet Security Systems (ISS). Meltzer is also a respected researcher, discovering numerous vulnerabilities and co-founding ISS's X-Force security research group. Mr. Meltzer has a B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
