New Accenture Offerings Help CSPs Accelerate Digital Transformation

By Frank Griffin February 18, 2016

Accenture has launched four new offerings developed to help CSPs speed up their digital network transformation in order to start providing next generation services. Next generation communications services are huge revenue opportunities for communications service providers (CSPs). However, the industry is highly competitive, and the CAPEX and OPEX continue to take increasing amount of the dwindling profit margins. Legacy and emerging CSPs have to invest in the right infrastructure to stay ahead of the pack, and the network is where it begins and ends for most companies.

With these four solutions, CSPs will be able to build new digital services quicker so they can introduce new services to market while improving the customer experience. These are key transformations CSPs have to make if they want to remain relevant.

According to the 2015 Accenture Network Transformation Survey, 80 percent of CSPs executives believe network function virtualization (NFV) and software-defining networking (SDN) have a significant impact on their operating model. But only 50 percent of them have a target date for closing legacy infrastructure, with three in four or 75 percent lacking the expertise to make the necessary changes without outside help.

The four solutions address the most essential components that are necessary to move CSPs forward with analytics, cloud-based technology assets and digital interfaces integration within a consolidated digital network platform.

Accenture Managing Director, Amol Phadke, said, "Network transformation is key to the evolution of communication service providers to digital service providers."

The four services are:

Digital Network Deployment Services so CSPs can easily and cost effectively deploy fourth and fifth generation wireless technologies.

Service Experience Engineering and Management Services to simplify mobile apps so they can be user friendly to provide feature rich services with more personalization for better customer experience.

Field Installation and Repair Services Transformation to improve the overall customer experience by using performance analytics, advanced triage management, field force management and on-site diagnostic applications on mobile devices.

Next Generation Enterprise Services so legacy systems can migrate to software-based networks while developing network managed services to evaluate their offerings and recommend new solutions in the market place in the future.

"The entire communications industry is quickly shifting toward all-digital networks. Our new offerings make it possible for providers to accelerate and capitalize on this digital transformation so they can compete more effectively and offer their customers new and differentiated services – delivered how and when their customers want them," said Gene Reznik, group technology officer of Accenture’s Communications, Media & Technology operating group.
