InterCloud Systems and SDN Essentials Partner to Deliver Cloud Services

By Rory Lidstone February 11, 2016

Provider of cloud networking orchestration and automation solutions and services InterCloud Services has entered into a new partnership with SDN Enterprises, a provider of solutions for helping customers plan, build and execute a software-defined network (SDN). The partnership formally establishes a service relationship for SDN/NFV and cloud enables services.

In other words, SDN Essentials can now leverage the cloud expertise of InterCloud and the orchestration capabilities of NFVGrid. Meanwhile, InterCloud Systems will leverage the education and professional services expertise of SDN Essentials.

This announcement comes shortly after the news that InterCloud has launched new industry-leading, vendor-independent, multi-vendor virtual network function (VNF) validation services. This third-party VNF validation enables service providers to know in advance that VNFs are working together properly in a specific, dynamic environment.

“SDN Essentials is very excited to partner with InterCloud, especially around the SDN and NFV software capabilities of NFVgrid. This platform solves a real problem of orchestration of VNFs and analytics for a variety of vendor and open source virtual functions,” said Doug Marschke, CTO of SDN Essentials.

InterCloud introduced NFVGrid, its NFV orchestration solution, back in May. The solution is built on top of Juniper Networks’ Contrail SDN platform and it allows both enterprises and service providers to expedite the implementation of new network functions by removing the requirement to address underlying network infrastructure. NFVGrid is offered via the network-as-a-service model and is based on the ETSI NFV ISG framework.

“We have stated that our goal is to become the global leader in multi-vendor, virtualized network orchestration, next generation analytics and third party VNF validation services as we build a brand of excellence around NFVgrid,” said Mark Munro, CEO of InterCloud. “This new relationship with SDN Essentials expands the services that we can provide to both service providers and telecommunications equipment vendors, as Network Function Virtualization becomes the new standard in IT networking.”
